Wake Up World

Hello
It's ok we understand how you feel about chronic illness it is something none of us want in our lives
just remember when it comes to
someone in your own family
we are here to help them and you
get through the battle
The stigma associated with hep c is the same for any person with any chronic illness, it is the natural born instinct to survive
deeply instilled in everyone of us and including
seeking out the strongest healthiest happiest people in our lives so we may thrive and be an important part of society
How many of us will call on a sick friend
to go out and have fun ? hmmm
It is a barrier we must overcome
in our hearts and minds
to put and end to this disease before it kills another
10 to 15 thousand in the USA that are
dying each and every year and peaking sometime by 2020 pandemic porportions will be predicted if this is not immediately put into the medias view the only way to stop the virus is to poison it.
If your friends do not accept you for the person you are because of illness then they are not your real friends to begin with
many are abandoned and divorced and
suffer in very painful isolation
I know a lot of heppers that are afraid to be persecuted by the world that wishes we were already gone, they don't want to speak out because everyone is automatically judged and labeled iv drug users and homeless vagrants that are addicted to everything , you would be surprised to find hepatitis c virus in very many so-called affluental society circles such as the Kennedy family to many people that did not deserve to be infected by air guns in the armed forces {who are dying for our freedom} to trauma surgery involving transfusions, Hemopheliacs, or any invasive medical or dental procedure before the blood supply was being tested in 1990 everyone of you must request a blood test from your health care providers to insure the disease doesn't sneak up on you when the symptoms arise after which is in the later stages of the virus and guess what the damage is already done.
Babyboomers and teenagers are the fastest growing newly diagnosed in the country and it must be stopped before it infects another human being on this planet
Fear Of The Unknown
Stigma comes from ignorance and I knew nothing about hepatitis c when I was diagnosed in 1992
why learn about something that cannot touch your life
It's better to be safe than sorry please get tested
I believe we can change the way society views chronic illness just by letting them know we are humans with families and loved ones the same as they are
and we join together as one by speaking the truth
as loudly as we are able
If you are healthy or in end stage liver disease it makes no difference to us the victims of the contaminated blood supply or iv teens from the 60' or teens today addicted to heroin are today in staggering numbers
we will help you when you decide to get treatment which feels worse than a bad lsd trip for for a year each time you do it
Many people cannot take one treatment the whole year and that is where "OOB" steps in and helps anyone going through the powerful chemotherapy we are a small family with just 15,000 people in and out and I know "we" have made a small difference in their lives by encouraging positive and direct humor in everyday life and chat rooms to vent and unwind it helps them feel better about themselves and their decisions
shhhhh....
Sad news is the government will not help the Veterans or the everyday person infected because they do not want to pay out billions of dollars to the victims from the tainted blood supply they would rather wait until we die and say they tried....
usually 25 years after the fact ?
Delphi is not the only place to start a revolution, but it sure helps me because I can only afford to keep it going by the members upgrading their subscriptions through
" Hep C Out Of Bounds "
The forum gets 4.95 when someone joins for a year toward the total bill so it is feeding itself in a way
Politics rule how the media and the grant money for research is implimented and that means a ton of money to line their pockets
to get them to help us or even look at us
sad but true it is the only way to be heard
I'd rather spend my time with people like you that are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and do something about it together because there should be no price on any humans life when it cost so little to prevent it from happing further
Glad to see you all fired up, all it takes is the spark you have in your soul to ignite the torch and run with the country to make everyone aware before it's too late you have a voice you can type,
write to the President or your local Senators.
There is no better time than NOW !!!
Get Busy "OOB"
