Latest news:

"Hep C Out Of Bounds" .org .
The Hepc OOB “organization” is involved more into advocacy and that is the direction we are taking with that facet of our work and the OOB.org site.
I really do not want, nor can we have an interactive forum like we are accustom to on a site that is associated with these various .orgs. We will be closely associated with the Massachusetts Hep C Coalition, the American Liver Foundation, several hospitals, medical professionals and we are in discussions with some Universities.

This along with the fact that we are about to begin in October a high school education program.
We will be having booths at some high school and college “health fairs.” We will also be making some formal presentations at schools and universities.
This will be done with the assistance, cooperation and involvement with several state agencies, the Hep C coalition and financially supported in part by some of the Pharmaceutical companies.

The last thing we need to is to have a high school student come in to OOB.org and read some of our posts especially the “Funny Farm” However I will NEVER give up the funny farm as I believe humor is one of the best medications for those on TX, and all of us actually.

This transition is a large project with many facets. (and a lot of bureaucrats!) I am sure it will not go completely smoothly.

Nevertheless, when we moved to the web from we wanted to grow and to get active in Hep C Advocacy.
Now we have the associations with organizations we wanted to and quite frankly needed. When we reopen our site to the web it will be a giant leap to the goals we set 2 years ago.

In order to do this we are changing the web hosting and the web company doing the designs. We are using the vendors the larger .orgs use to rebuild the site.
The entire look and structure will be changed. . It will take some time as the objections, functions and theme of OOB.org will change dramatically. It is moving away from being a pure interactive foum like we have here now.

The OOB.org site will be all Hep C with discussions and chats with doctors, nurses and other medical professionals. No talk about Hillary, sex, life..you know the kind of stuff we like to talk about! That will be here at this forum along with the usual folders for support, education and so on. We have active chatrooms from 9:00pm est on Friday and Saturday's . http://forums.delphiforums.com/hepcotb/start

The second reason is we wish to help as many people as possible to bring the message of support. Here has always been a great platform for helping people obtain the support so many need, especially new people. We also have a very successful live support group and are about to open the first free hep c testing center in my home state, another one of our goals. We need a place to direct them to as we redo our other site. The information and updates about our advocacy and programs will be posted at the OOB.org site for the most part.
We also have many politicians and 2 lobbyist that are helping us. They have under no uncertain terms told me that the “freedom” of speech will not help us in these endeavors. Those politicians would shun us with some of the conversations we have about politics, sex, religion, the war and what not. So on their advice, which I believe is prudent that we are splitting our web site from our forum. Our forum will be at http://forums.delphiforums.com/hepcotb/start and one of our websites at http://hepcoutofbounds.org. We have another web site connected to this site (hepcoutofbounds.com) that we will be redoing as well. We also have this blog to keep you informed as we grow.
Thank You.
